Backup Manager - Quick Installation Instructions
- Download the appropriate version of Backup Manager from the Downloads page.
- If applicable, extract the installer from the ZIP file.
- Run the installer.
- Click "Next" at the "Welcome" screen.
- Read and accept the EULA, then click "Next".
- Click "Next" at the "Installation Type" screen.
- Click "Next" at the "Installation Mode" screen.
- Type in your email address instead of the default "Backup Manager ID".
- NOTE: The installer will read your computer name (Network ID) and suggest it by default. However, many computers of the same brand will have the same machine name set at the factory, instead of a unique network ID. This can make it difficult, if not impossible, to retrieve your files later. Your email address is unique and easy to remember. This is why we strongly suggest that you use your email address as the Backup Manager ID.
- Click "Next" at the "Destination Location" screen.
- We suggest that you change the default "User Name" and "Password" at the "Configuration" screen.
- Make sure you write down both the "User Name" and "Password," and keep them in a safe location.
- Click "Next" at the "Program Folder" screen.
- Click "Next" at the "Additional Task" screen.
- Click "Install" to complete the installation.
- Backup Manager should start automatically.
- Login to the Backup Manager console with the "User Name" and "Password" defined on line 10 above.
- Configure your first backup schedule, and click on "Save" when you are done.
- Note: You will have to enter a password for the encryption of the schedule.
- VERY IMPORTANT: You must remember this encryption password! If you lose it, you may not be able to recover your files later! Therefore, you should probably write this password down on the same sheet of paper used on line 11 above.
- Backup Manager should automatically begin backing up your first schedule.
- Configure any additional backup schedules as required.
